DESCRIPTION: I wanted to create a photo that captured how wonderful some Sunday mornings can be. In this photo, my girlfriend had showed up on my doorstep from the night before. She lived in NY while I was living in Louisville KY. We hadn’t talked or seen each other in almost a year. She showed up out of the blue with her suitcase and pillow to stay the weekend. We had been broken up for almost a year and it had ended badly. However, regardless of the distance and time we had put between us we were still in love. Her surprise visit was as romantic as any love story can be. We spent the evening shooting pool and drinking Margaritas. I snapped this photo as she rose from bed in the morning and caught her while she was stretching in the sunlight coming from my hall window. I felt that it truly captured the essence of the mood on this particular Sunday. The contrast between the hard dark wood floors in my apartment and the sunlight against her naked body showed the excitement and warmth that was present in my home. She was perfect. It was perfect. We were back together again.
